Moving on

Posted in Creativity, Life, Thoughts with tags , , , on July 11, 2017 by vixstar1314

Far too often, moving on is a tough decision and even harder to action when it comes down to it.

I for one, know that change is always present, yet dislike it. Because changes is unsettling and means leaving something or someone behind and I find it difficult to detach from the comfortable habit especially if I have been in it for years. Yet when it comes down to it, I force myself to do it when it is absolutely necessary.

Over the past 2-3 years I have learnt to say more feelings when it is really time to share them, more importantly when having to say more solid and real goodbyes such as when leaving jobs, goodbyes when visiting people when you are on holiday or not being sure when you will realistically get to see someone face to face again. I guess a part of this stems from knowing I never really know when my last moment on this Earth would be so I would say to you – say the stuff you want to otherwise you may miss the chance forever or worse separated by life and death.

Saying goodbye to people is the toughest of “moving on” because you know that even though you will probably see these people again and they will also live on in your memories or you will stay in contact with them via social media yet it will not be the same as being so close by. However the ironic thing is that no day is the same regardless of what happens, so we have to face the change and deal with it no matter how much discomfort it brings or how much we really don’t want to deep down. Because this is how we grow and develop. We have to change just as the world rotates around each day, changing…

Paradox

“The Universe is very, very big.
It also loves a paradox. For example, it has some extremely strict rules.

Rule number one: Nothing lasts forever.
Not you or your family or your house or your planet or the sun. It is an absolute rule. Therefore when someone says that their love will never die, it means that their love is not real, for everything that is real dies.

Rule number two: Everything lasts forever.”
Craig Ferguson, Between the Bridge and the River

Books

Books where the words have lingered and lived through different time periods, will have something extra deep about them. If the context, words, stories, characters can survive through significant changes in periods and people still read them then it is a classic worth reading.

Anne Lamott: On why we read and write:

“Writing and reading decrease our sense of isolation. They deepen and widen and expand our sense of life: they feed the soul. When writers make us shake our heads with the exactness of their prose and their truths, and even make us laugh about ourselves or life, our buoyancy is restored. We are given a shot at dancing with, or at least clapping along with, the absurdity of life, instead of being squashed by it over and over again. It’s like singing on a boat during a terrible storm at sea. You can’t stop the raging storm, but singing can change the hearts and spirits of the people who are together on that ship.”Flying-Letters

“I miss the feeling,

of holding a map,

not quite knowing where I am going,

but not feeling a complete sense of lost.

Lately I feel a great sense of being very lost again,
in life.

Unfortunately or fortunately,

in life there are no maps,

we have to do what we believe is right,

even if others look at you like you are doing the wrong thing,

embrace that which is true to you,

embrace that which defines you,

have the courage to stand by what you believe in,

as long as you are not harming others,

then give yourself courage to go on.”

Forever?

Everyone wants happiness, we go looking for it, chase after it, because the truth is no one wants to be alone, or wants pain. But in reality you can’t have a rainbow without getting some down pours of rain.

If you want to make a promise and be true to that promise never say forever, because if you say that you have already broken the promise  maybe without knowing it.

Nothing in life is forever, because life itself is not forever. Therefore if things are going good then enjoy, don’t worry about loosing it but embrace it instead. If things are going bad, remember it can’t last forever, it might feel like it will, but the bottom line is nothing is forever.

Wrong is a word used to describe actions and mistakes, but most of the time ain’t wrong actually a result of a lesson? Without the wrong, you would not be you today. Of course there are so many times when you wished that was the case, where you had not made the wrong and had become what you are today. However ain’t it the way it was meant to be? How God had planned it!

“Nothing Lasts Forever” – Brett Dennen

I saw you spiraling
I saw you spinning back in time
through all your memories
such a quiet disease
you had forgotten me
but I’ll always remember you dancing
across the kitchen in your orange handkerchief
such a quiet disease
I pray that when you dream you would remember everything
you know it all comes back to you
in one conscience dream
maybe you’d sing and put words to all the things
that you think of in a day
but forgotten how to say
nothing last forever
not even the mountains
someday they will be swept away and swallowed by the sea
we all shall be blessedly released
life is so precious it’s as fragile as a dream
and in a moment we all grow our wings
I wish to sing as if no ones listening
I wish to dance as if no one is watching
I wish to dance as if no one is watching
and I, give thanks for my dreams
you can rob me of my sight
and you can poison my blood stream
but as long as I can dream then life is worth living
nothing last forever
not even the mountains
someday they will be swept away and swallowed by the sea
we all shall be blessedly released
nothing last forever
not even the sun
for all we know it could have burned out light years ago
darkness remains the hardest thing for us to outrun

A little sprinkle of truth

-You don’t have to believe, but it is the truth.

-You think you know me? But you have no idea. The surface barely tell’s the story. I hide problems behind my smile. I stand to stop myself from breaking outside too. Behind this exterior is a different story.

-I go to your page because I miss you, then regret it because of what I see.

-Of all the people I have ever met, you are one of very few that I will never forget,

-Music – brings to me pleasure and pain.

One Day

Posted in Creativity, Fiction, Film, Life, Personal, Reads, Society, This May Help U!, Thoughts, Time, Travelling with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on October 22, 2011 by vixstar1314

“One Day” these two words have now been greatly associated with the novel(by David Nicholls) and subsequently the adaptation into the film.

This post is not actually based heavily on the novel/film. But more on the concepts that were raised.

In the novel/film, it follows the life of two young adults who had a passionate night during their final year of uni and stayed in touch. But their paths divert in different directions. We are taken on many life journeys whereby we revisit them every year on 15th July for 20 years. We get shown how they develop into adults, the up’s and down of life, love, fate, friendship, career, ambition, family, the often cruel reality of life many strong topics…

In life we also think of “one day” in terms of hope and chance:

one day

-things will get better…

-I will find….

-this will happen…

-I will find time to do…

Yet we forget that “one day” may not come.

One thing, one encounter, one person, one mistake, one action
can change everything, could change your whole life.

Through the film we see the two main characters live their life. But it’s like fate and destiny alway’s knew that they ought to be together, but eventually apart. In life we wonder if there is only one person for us. Or if one day everything will get better, or make sense. But the thing is what if written in the stars, it’s already set in stone? That one day may come or it may not.

The truth is “one day” is so vague, so distant that it lack’s “realness”

From looking into the relationship in “one day” we see things that they did not see at the time. That’s why sometimes it is said the outsider’s view is clearer. You see that they were always supposed to be together, yet they could not see that themselves. Which is why I suggest from time to time, take a step back and look into your own life, be a stranger looking into your own life. Ask yourself:

“does this seem right?”

“is this the right way?”

“if I only had one more day would I be doing this?”

Trust me you will be amazed at how the different perceptive can be refreshing.

Remember there may never be that “one day” – life has no guarantee
