Hope. Patience. Prayer.

Hope: I am to rejoice in the eternal hope of the Gospel. This world is not my forever home. The best is yet to come.

Patient in Tribulation: the word for patient means to persevere. Matthew Henry notes, “Christians may be enabled to do this by the sustaining influence of their hope of future glory; of being admitted to that world where there shall be no more death, and where all tears shall be wiped away from their eyes.” Hope and patience walk hand in hand. We are able to persevere in the midst of difficulty because of the hope that we have.

Prayer: This one hits close to home. I’m not exactly sure when it happened, but I stopped praying for a baby. It seemed like the prayer would never be answered, and so I stopped making the request. This call to constancy in prayer convicts my soul. I…
