Easter and Remembrace

Today is a solemn day, known to many as Good Friday. Centuries ago, today was the day that Jesus sacrificed himself for his people, us. To clear us of our sins.
He was cruelly and painfully nailed to a wooden cross by Roman soldiers.
You may wonder why it is called “Good Friday” then, well it’s mainly because it is believed that Jesus gave up his own life, for the good of his people.

That day was full of darkness, pain, blood as so much shattered, Jesus was betrayed by those he trust and some of his own people.

Some of the last words Jesus said from the cross:
– Luke 23:24 “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing”
– Luke 23:43: “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise”
– John 19:26 “Woman, here is your son..Here is your mother”
– Mark 15:34 “Eloi Eloi, lema sabachthani? ( My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?)
– John 19:30 “It is finished”
– Luke 23:46 “Father into your hands I commend my spirit”

Yet he did not blame his people, he was willing to suffer for us. He knew that all his suffering will cleanse us of our sins and he will rise again, and we will understand and remember all that he went through was for us.

We need to remember darkness will never stay forever, if we have hope and faith we will see the light again. As Jesus will always rise again and as the son of God he will look after us.

Holy Saturday: When the faithful ones will wait, hope, pray and watch as Christ rises again.
“May the light of Christ, rising in glory, banish all darkness from our hearts and minds”

Traditional Easter vigil service: “ Grant that this Easter candle make our darkness light; for Christ the morning star has risen, never again to set, and is alive and reigns for ever and ever”
This reminds us that humanity has faults and we will always be rescued by God as he promises to always be with us, if we stand by him.

Easter Sunday: Resurrection of Jesus Christ by God. Jesus’s tomb was in a cave, where the entrance was blocked off with a massive stone so that no one could steal the body. However when Mary Magdalene and some of Jesus’ disciples visited the grave they found that the stone had been moved and that the tomb was empty. Jesus himself was seen that day by Mary and the disciples, and afterwards by many others too.

Darkness is over, light is above us, as Jesus rises.

Take this day to remember what Jesus done for us, then re-think what you have done for him and not let his sacrifice be wasted and be a better person. Celebrate the rise of Jesus, remember to thank Jesus and God for everything they have blessed you with.

Happy Easter and God Bless
